The meeting followed the publication of a four-part WSWS article series, exposing the role played by Sylvia Ageloff, a former member of the Socialist Workers Party of the United States, in the Stalinist assassination of Leon Trotsky. North and London discussed the significance of the latest revelations, in the context of the decades-long Security and the Fourth International investigation by the ICFI into Trotsky’s assassination.
The discussion was moderated by SEP (US) National Secretary Joseph Kishore, and Thomas Mackaman, a historian at Kings College in Pennsylvania and a contributor to the WSWS.

This is an open letter written to the American Conference of Irish Studies. ACIS vice president Aidan Beatty is slated to assume the organization’s presidency at its annual conference later this month.
Underlying the interlinked crises of the capitalist system is an oligarchy that subordinates all of society to profit and the accumulation of personal wealth. The fight against the oligarchy is by its very nature a revolutionary task.
The RCI continues the decades-long efforts of the tendency initially led by Ted Grant to oppose the Fourth International and to orient workers and youth to the Stalinist, trade union and social democratic bureaucracies—under the cover of a torrent of radical-sounding rhetoric.
